| BALANCING CHAOS | " A Quiet Knowing" |
BALANCING CHAOS is a series of automatic drawings in which each piece emerges through a meditative process rooted in the mandala system, where symmetry serves as a guiding framework. Inspired by Daoist philosophy, the work reflects the dynamic balance between opposing forces—order and disorder—expressed through a black-and-white palette representing yin and yang.
These works are created as part of a soul retrieval practice in shamanic journeying. Through automatic drawing, the artist accesses her subconscious and unconscious mind, allowing imagery to emerge organically. The resulting forms often reveal spirit animals, flowers, symbolic patterns, and Zen-like motifs that gesture toward inner peace, insight, and personal guidance.
Above is an image of the artist’s eye, titled A Quiet Knowing. It reflects her intuition and fleeting moments of satori—quiet flashes of insight and inner clarity that arise in stillness during her shamanic journeys, where vision reveals truths to surface. Below are butterflies recurring—representing the artist's transformation.
Rather than a singular, fixed symbol, the butterfly recurs in varied forms. The Dancing Butterfly represents the artist’s expressive side driven by rhythm in dance. The Claspwing Butterfly represents the artist’s expressive side in refinement.
