Shamanic Artist

Nicole McNeill is a Shamanic Artist specializing in automatic drawing and writing. Her meditative practice brings together yin and yang, expressed through a black-and-white palette. Chaotic linework is transformed into symmetrical forms called "Balancing Chaos", creating a visual dialogue between spontaneity and structure, disorder and balance.

Influenced by Zen philosophy and the psychology of Carl Jung, Nicole’s work explores the personal and collective unconscious through archetypal imagery. Carl Jung saw the Shaman as a prototype of the individuation process — a figure who, through personal sacrifice and visionary experience, achieves wholeness.

The “wounded healer,” or the Shaman, is a psychological parallel to Carl Jung's work on archetypes, the shadow, and the numinous. Currently, Nicole McNeill is writing a book called, "A Quiet Knowing", which brings together her automatic drawings and writings from her travels to sacred and ancient sites, such as medicine wheels and ancestral landmarks.

Her artistic practice is deeply personal, as part of her shamanic soul-retrieval process, a path of self-healing from attachment trauma. As a full-time explorer of self-exploration, art becomes a way of making her unseen reality visible—transforming her inner shamanic experiences into symbolic confirmations.
